All the NEWS proudly brought to you by HJC HELMETS All the NEWS proudly brought to you by HJC HELMETS CABERG HORUS Flip up HORUS IS THE CABERG’S FLIP UP CONCEIVED FOR TOURING AS WELL AS URBAN COMMUTING THANKS TO THE DUAL HOMOLOGATION P/J THAT ALLOWS TO RIDE EITHER WITH THE CHIN GUARD OPEN (J CONFIGURATION) OR CLOSED (P CONFIGURATION ) PASSING THE HOMOLOGATION TESTS REQUIRED BY THE STANDARD REGULATION ECE 22.05 P/J. The chin guard of HORUS has the rotation movement independent from the one of the visor allowing the chin guard to be much closer to the shell and reducing the head wind effect while riding with the chin guard open. Human, (pronounced ‘He-Mun’), Harley Davidson at 45 Zastron Street, Bloemfontein in the local Ford Dealership. Andrew and Helgaard are really enthusiastic about the brand and passionate about customer service. We got there just as young Andrew arrived from a quick round trip to Jo’burg to deliver a bike to a customer. Ready to put another bum in a Harley saddle, he was full of fun and wit making for for an entertaining 45 minute chinwag. The dealership is beautiful with a good amount of Harley merchandise and accessories and a bunch of gleaming steeds on the showroom floor. The local H.O.G. guys hang out there a lot when they aren’t escorting their local rugby heroes, the Cheetahs, onto the field for home matches. Andrew says they do deals all over the country and are happy to trade in bikes as well and can assist with countrywide deliveries to your front door. Give them a call on 051 430 1011 or drop them a mail andrew@hdcentral.co.za The elegant design and technical features make the HORUS the ideal tourering companion. The outer visor, “PANORAMIC ULTRA-WIDE VISOR” offers a nice wide field of view due to the amplified visibility in the front part equal to 82°. This feature allows the rider to be completely immersed in the surrounding environment and considerably reduces head movement while checking the info on the dashboard or GPS without losing the sight of the road ahead. HORUS is also equipped with an antifog Pinlock Max vision lens and an integrated sunshade DVT visor easily maneuverable with gloves. The ventilation system offers good comfort even in the most extreme conditions thanks to an air front vent on the chin guard, one large adjustable air intake on top, two rear air extractors, built-in channels present in the inner shell as well as breathable fabrics for the liner that is entirely removable and washable. It also has an inner space set for the microphone and speakers. The main feature of this helmet is the Panoramic Visor and double homologation for full-face and open face application and also comes standard with the following: • SHELL: LG CHEM HI-IMPACT ABS • DOUBLE VISOR (EXTERNAL AND DROP- DOWN INTERNAL SUN VISOR) • QUICK RELEASE VISOR • ANTI-SCRATCH VISOR WITH PINLOCK MAX VISION AS STANDARD • MICROMETRIC BUCKLE • INTERNAL VENTILATION • REMOVABLE AND WASHABLE INTERIOR • RAINPROOF PROFILES • REMOVABLE STOP-WIND • PREPARED FOR INTERCOM SYSTEMS • AVAILABLE IN SIZES XS-XXL • AVAILABLE IN MATT BLACK AND METAL WHITE/RED/BLUE • PANORAMIC VISOR TECHNOLOGY Find more information or your nearest stockist on www.dmd.co.za HUMAN HARLEY DAVIDSON BLOEMFONTEIN Whats happening Nelson Mandela Street – SA’s central biking hub? A few months ago you would have read about our little whirlwind visit to the city of flowers, Bloemfontein, in the heart of our beautiful country. We introduced you to the likes of BMW Motorrad Bloemfontein, Jet Sport, Amphibia Suzuki, Orange County KTM, Salleys Husqvarna/Yamaha/Kawasaki and Central bikes/Honda Wing Central. We popped down to what would seem to be the busiest motorcycling street in South Africa again this month to say hello to our new mates and meet a couple more. And these are the really friendly bunch we would like to introduce you to. WHEELI INN This busy shop is the Big Boy dealership in Bloemfontein, run by the very friendly Donald and Hilary … No! Not Trump & Clinton as they like to joke, but rather Futter. Donald Futter is an old racer having done battle with most of the other legends in our motorcycle racing past. They cater mostly to the commuter and commercial market in and around Bloemfontein. Speaking to them they say business is surprisingly good considering restrictions imposed because of the pandemic. They carry a wide range and quite a big stock holding of commuter and commercial bikes along with all the parts and service items their customers could ever need. They have a pro workshop which Donald personally oversees while Hilary takes care of the heart of the business. Gwenro Building, 33 Nelson Mandela St, Sonneskyn, Bloemfontein. 051 448 2927 futter@imaginet.co.za 411 RACING Right next door is 411 Racing. They specialise in motor rebuilds, bike rebuilds, restorations and most importantly engineering. They have quickly earned the reputation as the “Go To” guys in town for any specialised mechanical and engineering work in town with a lot of the other dealers making regular use of their talents and skills. Under the leadership and guidance of Shaun Nell, the young, energetic and friendly team also run a successful high-end pre-owned bike division and always have some real head turners on the showroom floor. They have a well-stocked accessories department and an aftermarket parts department. Specialised OE fitment parts do have to be ordered in on request. 37 Nelson Mandela Dr, CBD, Bloemfontein or give them a call on 051 228 0899 or 073 419 4133, alternatively you can also drop them a mail on 411moto@gmail.com MOTORCYCLE WORLD When we say the ‘busiest motorcycling street in South Africa’ we say it with utter conviction, because neighbouring these two great bike shops are the likes of Orange County KTM, the various Salleys franchises, Honda Wing Central and a bit further up BMW Bloemfontein. Directly across the street from that lot is Motorcycle World. Kobus has been going since 1995 specialising in servicing and fitments with a couple of used bikes and quads in stock and a good range of aftermarket parts. 42 Nelson Mandela Drive, Bloemfontein 051-448-4245 at mcw@connix.co.za or sparesaccessories@motorcycle-world.co.za
