ROBERTCO STICKER KITS

ROBERTCO STICKER KITS Robertco sticker kits, MX shirt and vehicle branding. Well known racer and rider Justin Robert has always been involved with vehicle branding in one way or another. Given his passion for racing anything on two or four wheels, his company has expanded and they now do a lot of goodies for the dirtbike trade. Gazebo’s. Sticker kits. Flags, Race shirts and even table cloths and of course, you can wrap your bakkie or trailer. With the 2021 season not that far off give these guys a shout. www.robertco.co.za M.H.M Mike Hopkins Motorcycles MHM … (formerly Thruxtons, formerly Mike Hopkins Motorcycles) We stopped in and chatted to Bob at their new premises in Baruch Park, Viro Crescent, Stikland, Cape Town. What was supposed to be a quick meet and greet ended up being quite a lekker long visit and tour of the new premises. Bob moved away from cold, wet and soggy England to sunny SA some 20 plus years ago, so that he could really enjoy his passion for motorcycles. Up front is a nice little Café serving light snacks, great coffee and a good selection of cold beverages all at sensible prices. The decor however, is being designed to get your juices flowing with big maps and photo’s on the wall to really capture your imagination. They are the local Kawasaki and SYM dealers with the best of everything that comes with it from a well-stocked parts department and sales floor to a very up to date workshop. They also have an interesting mini motorcycle museum on the go. Standing inconspicuously between all the shiny new bikes are a bucket load of beautiful modern classics with some really rare and gorgeous vintage bike thrown in for good measure. Bob is an avid collector and restorer, particularly of classic Honda’s, and has his own special restoration workshop on the premises as well. Now, the thing that really caught our attention is the fact that anyone can ride these classics … for a fee of course. MHM rents out some of their classic bikes and also hosts tours of Cape Town and the surroundings in the Western Cape. So, you can book a weeks tour with them and ride a different classic bike each day. We like that a lot seeing as how some of us grew up riding most of these bikes in our early days of biking. Bikes like these inspired our career choices. Upstairs is the usual well stocked accessories department, they also have a drone shop on site. But most importantly, tucked away in a corner behind an inconspicuous door they have a stunning man cave - come club house - stocked with some of the most interesting motorcycle memorabilia. Like we said, just a really great place to visit. Give them a call on 021 910 0535 or drop them a mail at mark@mhmct.co.za and remember they have moved to their new premises in Baruch Park, Viro Crescent, Stikland. BLOEMFONTEIN Whats happening Nelson Mandela Street – SA’s central biking hub? A few months ago you would have read about our little whirlwind visit to the city of flowers, Bloemfontein, in the heart of our beautiful country. We introduced you to the likes of BMW Motorrad Bloemfontein, Jet Sport, Amphibia Suzuki, Orange County KTM, Salleys Husqvarna/ Yamaha/Kawasaki and Central bikes/Honda Wing Central. We popped down to what would seem to be the busiest motorcycling street in South Africa again this month to say hello to our new mates and meet a couple more. And these are the really friendly bunch we would like to introduce you to. WHEELI INN This busy shop is the Big Boy dealership in Bloemfontein, run by the very friendly Donald and Hilary … No! Not Trump & Clinton as they like to joke, but rather Futter. Donald Futter is an old racer having done battle with most of the other legends in our motorcycle racing past. They cater mostly to the commuter and commercial market in and around Bloemfontein. Speaking to them they say business is surprisingly good considering restrictions imposed because of the pandemic. They carry a wide range and quite a big stock holding of commuter and commercial bikes along with all the parts and service items their customers could ever need. They have a pro workshop which Donald personally oversees while Hilary takes care of the heart of the business. Gwenro Building, 33 Nelson Mandela St, Sonneskyn, Bloemfontein. 051 448 2927 futter@ imaginet.co.za 411 RACING Right next door is 411 Racing. They specialise in motor rebuilds, bike rebuilds, restorations and most importantly engineering. They have quickly earned the reputation as the “Go To” guys in town for any specialised mechanical and engineering work in town with a lot of the other dealers making regular use of their talents and skills. Under the leadership and guidance of Shaun Nell, the young, energetic and friendly team also run a successful high-end pre-owned bike division and always have some real head turners on the showroom floor. They have a well-stocked accessories department and an aftermarket parts department. Specialised OE fitment parts do have to be ordered in on request. 37 Nelson Mandela Dr, CBD, Bloemfontein or give them a call on 051 228 0899 or 073 419 4133, alternatively you can also drop them a mail on 411moto@gmail.com MOTORCYCLE WORLD When we say the ‘busiest motorcycling street in South Africa’ we say it with utter conviction, because neighbouring these two great bike shops are the likes of Orange County KTM, the various Salleys franchises, Honda Wing Central and a bit further up BMW Bloemfontein. Directly across the street from that lot is Motorcycle World. Kobus has been going since 1995 specialising in servicing and fitments with a couple of used bikes and quads in stock and a good range of aftermarket parts. 42 Nelson Mandela Drive, Bloemfontein 051-448-4245 at mcw@connix.co.za or sparesaccessories@motorcycle-world.co.za
